Youth Development Camp
June 21-22, 2024
Join us Friday and Saturday June 21-22 for our inaugural youth multisport development camp. Our camp venue will be staged from the beautiful Sparks Marina in the city of Sparks, NV.
The camp will focus on introducing all aspects of the sports of triathlon and multisport. Led by PacWest Endurance’s Founder and Head Performance Coach Jay Ridgeway (bio), the camp is a perfect opportunity for youth ranging in ages from middle school, high school and college, 13 to under 23 years of age. Athletes with experience competing in one or more of the disciplines is a plus but not required. However, one requirement for this camp is basic swim skills and relative comfort swimming in open water.
The general definition of multisport is any combination of swim, bike or run. Popular multisport events include duathlon (run-bike-run), aquathlon (swim-run) and aquabike (swim-bike). As part of our camp experience, participants will be doing a version of an aquathlon called a “Splash & Dash” on Saturday morning. It’s a super fun event that we are certain everyone will enjoy doing.
We will use this camp as a great training experience toward getting interested athletes to participate in the Pyramid Lake Sprint Triathlon (website) on Saturday, July 20. This year’s race is designated as the USA Triathlon Nevada State High School Championship (schedule).
In addition to our group picnic lunch on Saturday, all participants will receive a cool camp participant shirt and other sponsor swag.
