Emily (Ridgeway) Torluemke
President & Senior Performance Coach
Coach Emily Torluemke is an accomplished endurance athlete, coach, and mentor with over a decade of experience helping athletes unlock their potential and fall in love with the endurance lifestyle.
Growing up immersed in the endurance world alongside her father — PacWest CEO & Head Coach Jay Ridgeway — Emily developed an early appreciation for the discipline, camaraderie, and personal growth that endurance sports inspire. It wasn’t until her college years at the University of Missouri (Mizzou), however, that she truly found her passion. After joining the Mizzou Triathlon Team as a freshman, she quickly rose to become team president, leading her teammates with enthusiasm and drive while balancing academics and competition.
Emily earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology, followed by a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology, where she deepened her understanding of the mental side of performance — a foundation that now defines her coaching philosophy. Drawing from both science and experience, she empowers her athletes to develop confidence, mental resilience, and a lifelong love of movement.
Today, Emily specializes in coaching beginner to intermediate-level athletes, guiding them through their first races or helping them reach new milestones with personalized, holistic training programs. Her approach blends evidence-based training with practical mindset strategies, helping athletes balance sport, work, and life while still achieving big goals.
Among her proudest achievements, Emily represented Mizzou at the inaugural 2014 and 2015 USA Triathlon Women’s Varsity National Championships in Clermont, Florida — helping pave the way for women’s triathlon as an emerging NCAA-sanctioned varsity sport. Her leadership and participation helped lay the groundwork for future generations of collegiate female triathletes.
Beyond coaching, Emily remains a passionate endurance athlete, lifelong learner, and advocate for growing participation in the sport. She continues to bring energy, empathy, and expertise to every athlete she works with — inspiring others to discover what they’re truly capable of.
